Early Childhood Education and Training Program

e-Learning trainings are a convenient way for all child care providers in New York State to meet their required training hours at no cost.

Funding is available to help child care providers obtain professional development and education, to help facilities offset the cost of MAT training.

Virtual Classes offer interactive online training on early childhood education topics. Classes are instructor-led and feature video, interactive discussion, activities and resources. Classes can be taken on a desktop computer, smart phone, tablet or other device.

NEW TRAINING - "Supervision in Child Care: The Principles of 'Environment' and 'Staff Supervision'". 

The safety of children is the driving force behind the New York State Child Day Care Regulations and it's at the root of everything you do.

Throughout 2025 we offered "Active Supervision in Child Care" training where we discussed creating a culture of safety in your program, defining competent supervision and describing the Head Start six active supervision strategies.

This first session in the series was attended by thousands of you, so we are pleased to announce that registration is now open for part two: "Supervision in Child Care: The Principles of 'Environment' and 'Staff Supervision.'"

As a result of this training, you will be able to describe a culture of supervision, implement changes to your child care environment and explain how staff should be positioned in your program to promote active supervision.

Dates and times include:

  • Monday 11/3/25 from 6-7:15 pm
  • Wednesday 11/5/25 from 1-2:15 pm
  • Tuesday 11/11/25 from 9-10:15 am
  • Tuesday 11/11/25 from 1-2:15 pm
  • Thursday 11/13/25 from 6-7:15 pm
  • Monday 11/24/25 from 1-2:15 pm
  • Wednesday 12/3/25 from 6-7:15 pm
  • Friday 12/19/25 from 1-2:15 pm

Each session:

  • is offered simultaneously in English and Spanish.
  • provides 1.25 hours of OCFS-approved training credit upon successful completion of the training.
  • fulfills the OCFS training topics of principles of childhood development, safety and security, child care statutes and regulations and child care program development.
  • requires you to successfully complete a post-test within 48 hours of the training to get credit (no re-tests are available).

NUEVA CAPACITACIÓN - "Supervisión en el cuidado infantil: Los principios de 'Entorno' y 'Posicionar al Personal'". 

La seguridad de los niños es la fuerza impulsora detrás de las Regulaciones de cuidado diurno infantil del Estado de Nueva York y está en la base de todo lo que usted hace.

A lo largo de 2025, ofrecimos la capacitación "Supervisión activa en el cuidado infantil", donde discutimos la creación de una cultura de seguridad en su programa, la definición de una supervisión competente y la descripción de las seis estrategias de supervisión activa de Head Start.

A esta primera sesión de la serie asistieron miles de ustedes, por lo que nos complace anunciar que la inscripción ya está abierta para la segunda parte: "Supervisión en el cuidado infantil: Los principios de 'Entorno' y 'Posicionar al Personal.'"

Cada sesión:

  • se ofrece simultáneamente en español e inglés;
  • imparte 1.25 horas de crédito de capacitación aprobado por la OCFS al completar exitosamente la capacitación;
  • cumple con los temas de capacitación de la OCFS sobre principios del desarrollo infantil, seguridad y protección, estatutos y regulaciones de cuidado infantil y desarrollo de programas de cuidado infantil; y
  • requiere que complete exitosamente un examen posterior dentro de las 48 horas posteriores a la capacitación para obtener crédito (no hay reexámenes disponibles).
